It’s official, our beautiful baby girl is one year old. I can’t believe how fast a year has gone by. Fiona is an incredible light in our life- she is full of smiles and laughs often. We are so lucky…
Fiona’s vital stats on her first birthday:
Height: 32 inches (100th percentile)
Weight: 22.63 (86th percentile)
The doctor said that she is the size of s “small two year old.” Yowzers!! The poor girl had four shots and blood drawn. The shots made her cry, but she sat without flinching to get her blood drawn (amazing!)

It’s hard to see, but on Fi’s little leg you can see carefully bandaged war wounds from her many shots at the pediatrician….
Words she says: Gee, gee (doggy), Mom, mom, mom meee (mommy), Dadadadee (daddy), Me! (more), Ya (yes), Hi (hi!)
Tricks 🙂 waves, Touchdown, blows kisses, gives hugs to people and her babies, kisses people and her babies, gives a “high five,” feeds her babies, shares her food and binkies (food with the dog, binkies with us, babies, etc…)
Fiona had the most wonderful birthday party. All her friends and family were here to celebrate. She played all afternoon, looked around in awe (and a bit of fear…) as we all sang to her, smashed cake into her face as she ate, and opened presents …. She was all smiles all day long.
The next day (her real birthday), Fi was, well, hung over… That’s really the best way to describe it. She was slow to wake up, but rallied so we could go to breakfast at Hollis Country Kitchen. We took a walk on the rail trail with Kota and then had to get Fi home— she was tired! Fiona took a four hour nap, and was still tired after that nap!!! She snuggled with Jeff and I on the couch and fell asleep again!!! After a short power nap, she was ready to rock again. We opened presents, had dinner, and ice cream cake— it was a wonderful day!
