On Saturday, we went to Jeff’s friends, Josh and Carola’s wedding. They had a small gathering at a home in Western Massachusetts. After a short ceremony in the grass, Fiona met two new friends. She met Josh’s daughter, Henrietta (who is 4 days younger than Fi) and another little girl who was about the same age as Fi as well. The three of them had a great time playing on the blanket with Fiona’s toys.
It was a beautiful evening. The real fun started when the Beatles cover band, Ticket to Ride came on stage. They played the first set dressed in early Beatles garb, complete with wigs. During the second set they dressed up in Sergeant Peppers’ costumes and put on quite a show. Fiona was, well, an absolute rock star. She made it through both sets (with a little nap during the first one). All evening, we danced with Fiona on our hips singing Beatles tunes. Literally as they played their last song, Fi began to fade. We took off soon after that and she slept all the way home, through the transfer to her crib and soundly until six the next morning. Like I said, complete rock star.
On Sunday, Candice, Steve, Steven, Cassidy, Connor, and Gregory came up to visit us. After a LONG nap (believe it or not, I contemplated waking Fi up as she was missing her visit with her family…), Fi was up and having fun with her cousins. She stared at Steven and waved, swam in the pool with Cassidy, sat in Gregory’s lap, and laughed while Connor made funny faces with sunglasses on. Fiona also had pizza for the first time, which she loved! Fi spent a lot of time in Candice’s arms- an especially funny moment was when Candice was giving Fi her bottle. Fiona laid there drinking her bottle and pulling up on her own shirt and showing her belly while she almost dozed off to sleep. It was really cute!
Thankfully, Monday was a quiet day (Fi slept through the night again- eight at night until EIGHT in the morning without waking!!!). We had lots of down time, a short walk in the woods and two long naps for Fi. The adults spent the day cleaning up after the weekend, unpacking bags, and doing laundry…
