We had a fantastic time in Old Lyme this weekend (although I think it is taking us a whole week to recover— and by us, I mean Jeff and I…) On Friday and Saturday we spent the day at Grand-mere and Grand-pere’s house. They were so amazed to see how much Fiona had grown. This is also when Fiona really started taking off crawling. We also spent two afternoons at the beach at Oakridge. Fiona loved swimming in the cool (but not too cold) ocean water and digging in the sand while making drip castles. Both days we enjoyed a picnic lunch on the beach and then headed back to Grand-mere and Grand-pere’s house for a well-deserved nap.
On Sunday and Monday we spent the day at Mimi and Grampy’s house. Fiona continued to show off her crawling skills and each day became stronger and crawled further. On Sunday we went to White Sands Beach with Mimi, Grampy and Mel and the kids. Fi again swam like a fish, dug in the sand with her cousins, took a walk on the beach and slept in Mimi’s arms. One highlight was going down to the Carousel on Sunday evening- Fiona had her first ride on the carousel and enjoyed mint chocolate chip ice cream. It was a great evening! On Monday we went to Lunch at the Shack where Fi had her first grilled cheese sandwich which she devoured along with some fries and fruit.
Like I said, busy, but amazing weekend and I am still doing laundry from our trip 🙂
