4/15/12 Six Month Update

Fiona is very deliberate in her play lately.  She grabs toys with both hands, brings them to her mouth, chews, drools, etc…  She rolls towards toys and grabs them with the opposite hand across her body.  She also grabs toys with her right hand and bends her wrist back and forth like she is closely examining each item.

Bath troubles… Twice her bath toys have given her trouble and thus been banished from bath time.  Fiona drinks too much water when she sucks on Phil, so he went “bye, bye.”  Then, Oscar squirted water into Fi’s mouth unexpectedly and Fiona freaked out.  Phil was also banished, but he didn’t take it as well.  He has been trying to escape and has been found in many precarious positions (in the fan, in the lights, caught between the screen and the window…)

Her current favorite toys-

  • workbench (although she gets frustrated when she can’t eat the paint roller)
  • maracas (shakes, bangs on the floor, giggles and tries to put both ends in her mouth)
  • Sophie

  • Ozlo
  • Shape blocks
  • Plastic and soft doughnuts

Favorite books-

  • On Top of Spaghetti
  • 5 Little monkeys
  • That’s Not my Doggy
